Apples are in season!

Since Apples are in season. I bought 6 lbs of red delicious apples to make for Baby Ethan. Here is a step by step process of how to make applesauce for you baby.

Apple Sauce Recipe:
1.  Peel and core apples
2.  Boil Slices
3.  Put slices into food processor and blend until “liquid like”
4.  Put in containers to freeze.  I used ice cube trays since two cubes are a good sized meal for Ethan.
5.  Watch your baby enjoy home made food that is good and nutritious.

Ethan made a funny face since it was his first time eating apple sauce!  After 1 or 2 sour looks, he was hooked!

If you were to buy pre-made baby applesauce it would be .44 cents for 2 oz.

Making the applesauce and putting a little love in it cost us .18 cents for 2 oz.

We also helped the environment by not buying all of those little glass jars that just get thrown away.

The best bonus is that we know what is in his food.

I trust baby food companies but I don’t know if they put any added sugar or salt in their food. I know what I made Ethan is 100% the real deal. Go us!

We saved .26 cents a feeding. To put it in perspective for this week of feeding we saved 3.64. Over time that is really adding up.
