by Robin on August 10, 2008 in Interview

My old blog had the interview below.  I just found it digging through the archives.Figured I would provide you more information about

http://www.moolanomy.com/

I sat down via virtual reality (the internet) with Pinyo from Moolanomy.com The website has been around for quite some time. Interesting website too with his newly created M Network and his goal to achieve 1 million dollars by 2017! That is one heck of a big hairy audacious goal!
Married And Broke: Why did you start blogging?

Moolanomy: I have been running web sites since 2000, but it is a real hassle to maintain good web site once it grows more than 20-30 pages. Then I found WordPress and fell in love with it. Eventually I did give up all my web sites due to change in life situation. But I always have the yearning to come back to the cyber world. After reading some personal finance books, I got pumped up about money all over again and decided to start Moolanomy, my personal finance blog.

Married And Broke: How do you describe your blog?

Moolanomy: I think of it as a place where I can share my experience about wealth building, exchange ideas with like-minded people, and above all, a motivational tool for me to achieve my $1 million goal.

Married And Broke: What are your personal favorite blog posts (from your site).

Moolanomy: I am quite critical of myself, so it is hard for me to answer this question. However, if you are at my blog for the first time, I guess I would like you to read the following posts:

  • Wealth building made REAL simple
  • $1 million by 2017. What’s your goal?
  • 7 costly retirement savings mistakes to avoid
  • 10 Baby Steps to Financial Recovery
  • My One Money Advice (MOMA Meme)

Married And Broke: Do you have any other blogs?
Moolanomy: No, Moolanomy takes a lot of my time already and I don’t think I can do a good job having more than one. However, I did start M-Network a few weeks ago. M-Network comprise of several personal finance blogs. The nice thing about it is that we have really different backgrounds, writing styles, and perspectives. The only two things we have in common is that we enjoy reading each other blogs and we blog and personal finance matter. If you enjoy reading Moolanomy, I think you will like posts from the M-Network as well. We have an aggregated feed that you read all of our blogs from one feed. I encourage you to subscribe to it. I think you will enjoy the diversity of thought and the quality of our posts.

Married And Broke: Do your family and friends blog, too?

Moolanomy: No, none of my immediate family or friends.

Married And Broke: What are you favorite blogs? Who do you read? (any recent favorite posts)?
Moolanomy: Well, I am going to be a bit narcissistic and say that my favorites are the ones in the M-Network. I also like the ones that are in my blogroll, which I do keep up to date.

That said, I avoid limiting myself to a few blogs. I like to reach out to gain fresh new perspectives. I usually do this by visiting blogs that my favorite blogs link to either in their posts or blogrolls. I also follow the Carnivals and visit other sites shared in my post, Personal Finance and Blogging Resources.
