Couponing Series: Secret to trying store brands for Free.

by Robin on April 30, 2009 in Tips

Two grocery stores near us have started a program about trying the store brand items.

Publix had Quaker Rice Snacks, Organic Salsa, and Organic Tortilla Chips.

The offer was if you buy the name brands you received the store brand for free.

We ended up saving around $10 and got some really yummy products. We also learned that we enjoyed the Publix brand better (their scheme worked).

If you know that you already won’t enjoy the store brand it is a great item to give away. Publix also does their 1 cent offer every Sunday and Monday. The catch is that you have to spend at least $10 but if you are buying the try our free offer you will more than likely spend around $10. One week we got salad dressing another we got a loaf of bread. It is always stuff we will use and if not we get to donate the item for a penny.
